The 1st Cinéma Heritage festival ended this evening, Saturday December 2, at the Mac-Mahon cinema. Jury members awarded 3 prizes among the 9 films in competition.
In an initial phase leading up to the festival, Eva Peydro, Barbara Lorey de Lacharrière and Philip Cheah, who formed the Selection Committee for the first edition of the CINEMA HERITAGE festival, viewed 500 films from 56 different countries. Of these, 9 films were chosen to compete in the International Competition for the 3 prizes awarded by the jury: Best Film, Best Director and Special Jury Prize.
The Jury for this first edition was composed of the Turkish director, screenwriter and producer Semih Kaplanoglu, President of the Jury. He was accompanied by Thessaloniki Film Festival general manager Elise Jalladeau, actress Natacha Régnier, editor Hervé Schneider and journalist Kèoprasith Souvannavong.

Zhang Yimou received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the opening ceremony. The award for Outstanding Contribution to the World Cinema went to Cristian Mungiu. This first edition was accompanied by Costa Gavras, Honorary President.
