The second edition of the “CINEMA HERITAGE” International Film Festival will be held at the Grand Rex from November 4 to 8, 2024, and announces its first guest of honor: Vladimir Cosma.

For its second edition, the Festival "CINEMA HERITAGE" takes up residence at the Grand Rex for 4 days of screenings of competition and non­competition films, restored heritage films, retrospectives and encounters with emerging filmmakers from around the world, as well as with legends to whom the festival will pay tribute. The first guest of honor announced today by the Festival Cinema Heritage will be the genius composer Vladimir Cosma. The festival will close with an awards ceremonies, including the Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema Award, the President's Award, the Best Film Award, the Best Director Award, the Special Jury Award and the Partners' Award. Prolific composer, inspired and subtle melodist, original orchestrator, Vladimir Cosma is the author of the greatest hits of French cinema ­ over 300! ­ such as Le Grand Blond avec une chaussure noire, La Boum, Rabbi Jacob, Diva, Le Bal, l'As des As, La Chèvre, Le Père Noël est une ordure, La Gloire de mon père, Le Château de ma mère, Le Dîner de cons... His credo is simple: “Good film music is just good music. It must be both popular and learned”. And that's what he's always done, throughout a rich and demanding career.

A look back at the first “CINEMA HERITAGE” International Film Festival

The 1st “CINEMA HERITAGE” International Film Festival was held in Paris in 2023 under the patronage of UNESCO and with the support of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The festival was founded by the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to France Sadyk Sher­Niyaz and producer and patron Kuban Toichubaev. The festival's operator is the French company Association Aitysh France, and the legendary French director, winner of an Oscar and numerous other international awards, Costa Gavras, has become the festival's honorary president.
