The film is based on numerous true stories of girls and women who became victims of “bride kidnapping” in Kyrgyzstan. Hiding under ancient tradition, which nowadays was greatly distorted, men abduct women and force them to marry.
UMUT (19) lives with her mother at the suburbs of Bishkek city and works as a nurse in a local hospital. She becomes a randomly selected victim of bride kidnapping.

Film director Was born in Sokuluk, Kyrgyzstan in 1982. Graduated from Kyrgyz State National University, Journalism Faculty in 2004. Mirlan Abdykalykov started his career in film as an actor playing leading roles in his father's Aktan Abdykalykov's films 'The Swing' (1993), 'The Adopted Son' (1998), and 'The Chimp' (2001). Debuted as a film director in 2015 with 'Heavenly Nomadic' (WP Karlovy Vary IFF).
